Alicante and Murcia are one of the sunniest cities

Alicante and Murcia are one of the sunniest cities of Europe ;
A study has proven that six of the ten sunniest cities in Europe are in Spain. These cities include Seville, Alicante and Murcia.
They came to this conclusion after comparing the data from World Weather online.

The average number of hours of sunshine per week and month was taken into account.
So not from a promotional campaign of the Spanish tourist office :-).
The other cities are in Italy and France.

Of course, we would have thought this, but this has now been proven with unbiased data
We already wrote it in other pages :Costa Blanca is very sunny with its Mediterranean climate.
All year round with little rain .
In addition, almost every day sun. Seldom frost in winter.
It’s hot there in summer . But not extreme.
Due to the presence of the Mediterranean Sea.
They are mild dry winters. But also warm and dry summers. So ideal for us Western Europeans.

Alicante and Murcia are one of the sunniest cities.

The absolute winner in first place is the city of Alicante on the Costa Blanca. This with 349 hours of sunshine per month.

Near the Mediterranean Sea and beautiful beaches .
But the city has an attractive city center where you can enjoy walking and shopping.
Also many historical sites and museums.
It is a living city with many bars and restaurants.
Of course also a beautiful marina.
So something for everyone.

Catania in Italy comes in second with two hours less.

Alicante and Murcia are one of the sunniest cities

Murcia is on the third place. Namely with an average of 346 hours of sunshine per month.

Moreover, Murcia is the capital of the region of the same name. In addition, the coast is known as the Costa Calida. What warm coast means in Spanish. Furthermore, this coast has beautiful beaches and many small coves.

The city of Murcia is also a lively university city with many historic buildings and museums. Where there are also many nice squares and streets.

Las Palmas of the Canary Islands

It is located just off the African coast.
Equal number of hours with Nice in France .

Alicante and Murcia are one of the sunniest but also Granada

Of course Granada is a sunny city. After all, located in Andalusia.
With the breath taking Alhambra to visit .
