Corvera airport was official openend on Tuesday 15 January 2019 by King Felipe of Spain.
The opening of the airport is for the region and Spain a gateway to the future.
In the future, it will create 19 000 jobs .
So the region of Murcia will grow.
In fact Corvera replaces the San Javier airport.
The first aircraft to land was a Ryanair flight from East Midlands airport in the United Kingdom.
As a result Corvera airport will provide a boost for the regional economy and tourism
To start flights will be operated by Easyjet, Ryanair and Tui.
The airplanes come from Antwerp- Deurne, Bristol, Birmingham, Brussels, Dublin, East Middlands, Leeds , Londen, Manchester and Southend.
Car rental at Corvera airport
For the moment, there are three car rental companies. Hertz, Europcar and Goldcar.
According to the Aena, two others ate expected to start in spring.
Bus services
So, there are several bus services to Corvera coming from the different location on the Mar Menor.
